Provision of Goods Worth Up to 500,000 KRW Starting This Month
Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 6th that starting this month, it will provide longevity celebration gifts worth up to 500,000 KRW to residents of Ulju-gun who are 100 years old or older.
This project was promoted to contribute to the health improvement and welfare enhancement of the elderly and to foster a culture of respect for the elderly in the local community. The support basis was established following the enactment of the 'Ulju-gun Longevity Celebration Gift Provision Ordinance' last year.
The support target is residents who have been registered and actually living in Ulju-gun for more than one year and are 100 years old according to their resident registration. As this is the first year of implementation, elderly people who are over 100 years old as of 2025 are also included. Currently, there are 43 elderly residents aged 100 or older living in Ulju-gun.
The application method is primarily for the elderly themselves to apply, but if it is difficult for them to apply in person, proxy applications are possible with the submission of relevant documents.
The longevity celebration gifts can be chosen from preferred items such as air purifiers, bedding sets, pressure ulcer mats, and dehumidifiers, all within 500,000 KRW.
An official from Ulju-gun said, “We are grateful for the dedication and hard work of the elderly who have played a pivotal role in the development of Korean society,” and added, “We will do our best to prepare various welfare services so that Ulju can be a good place for the elderly to live in preparation for entering a super-aged society.”
