Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun Attends Youth Participation Committee Closing Ceremony... Urges Active Participation

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City recently attended the ‘2025 Youth Participation Committee Closing and Launch Ceremony’ hosted by the ‘Yangju City Hope Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Lee Jin-gyu)’ at the city hall’s main conference room, encouraging the committee members for their active participation and efforts and supporting their future activities.

According to Yangju City on the 5th, the event held on the 27th of last month was attended by Mayor Kang Su-hyun, City Council Chairman Yoon Chang-chul, Vice Chairman Choi Soo-yeon, members of the Youth Participation Committee, and officials from the Yangju City Hope Scholarship Foundation. The ceremony included awarding certificates of commendation to outstanding members from the previous year, issuing appointment letters to new members, introducing the foundation, reporting on last year’s activities, and presenting this year’s activity plans.


The ‘Yangju City Hope Scholarship Foundation Youth Participation Committee’ is a youth participation organization operated based on Article 5-2 of the Youth Basic Act to promote the rights and interests of youth and enhance the effectiveness of policies.


The 2nd Youth Participation Committee, launched through the appointment ceremony on this day, consists of 18 youths selected through an open recruitment process from January to February. The committee members will participate in various youth-related activities within the city this year, including providing opinions on youth-related policies and projects, monitoring and promoting the foundation’s projects, and engaging in policy discussions.


Chairman Lee Jin-gyu said, “I hope that through the activities of the Youth Participation Committee, young people will cultivate civic awareness as members of society and contribute to the promotion of youth rights and interests. We will listen carefully to the voices of youth and provide generous support through various program initiatives so that they can prepare for a better future.”


Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “Last year, your activities achieved many accomplishments, and I hope you will achieve even greater growth through new challenges this year. Your passion and creativity will be the driving force that further develops our Yangju City.”
