Dongmyung University was recently selected as a continuing project for the second year in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Small Enterprise and Market Service) public contest for the '2025 Local Content Focus University' project.
This project aims to develop differentiated local content by integrating creative ideas with the characteristics of regional resources through the university's regular curriculum and to nurture prospective entrepreneurs equipped with practical experience necessary for local startups.

In the first year of the project in 2024, Dongmyung University successfully carried out the project with various departments participating, centered on the Department of Entrepreneurship, including the Department of Fashion Design, Department of Interior Architecture, Department of Visual Design, and Department of Beauty Industry.
In the second year of the 2025 project, the Department of Entrepreneurship will lead the operation of seven modular (microdegree) curricula within the academic program. The university plans to expand participation from departments interested in fostering local creators by collaborating with local experts, industry professionals, and field specialists.
Professor No Seong-yeo of Dongmyung University (Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship), who is responsible for the project, stated, “We will expand this curriculum to the College of Future Convergence, other colleges, and regional universities to cultivate experts in content development, space development, and commercial district development. We will also expand extracurricular programs to support the establishment of business plans for lifestyle, anchor stores, and local infrastructure businesses.” He added, “We aim to break down educational barriers and create synergy through convergence across various fields.”
Dongmyung University plans to form a consultative body with local companies to develop and operate curricula and programs tailored to the characteristics of regional resources, continuously serving as a local test bed. Additionally, the university intends to build a local startup hub and, in connection with the ‘Green Startup Town Development Project,’ jointly operate a startup campus through collaboration among the university, local governments, and public-private partnerships, evolving into a local shared startup campus.
