The inspection, which will be conducted until the end of August, will focus on related facilities at 51 pig farms in the area. The main inspection items include ▲whether the discharged water exceeds water quality standards ▲whether livestock manure has leaked into public water bodies ▲unauthorized piling and abandonment of livestock manure and compost, among others.

The city plans to take measures such as filing complaints, administrative actions, and imposing fines on violating farms according to the "Act on the Management and Use of Livestock Manure," while also strengthening follow-up management such as compliance verification and education.

Additionally, the city will propose to the Ministry of Environment to include "color"?which is not currently part of the water quality standard items for purified discharge water from livestock farms?as a legal item, and plans to recommend water quality improvement projects to farms with high discharge water color levels.
