'Visiting Free Inspection Service' Touring Eup, Myeon, and Dong Areas
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province is implementing various policies to promote bicycle use among its citizens.
On the 5th, Pyeongtaek City announced that it will operate the 2025 Pyeongtaek Citizen Bicycle Insurance to encourage bicycle use. This insurance automatically covers all residents registered in Pyeongtaek City, providing insurance benefits in case of related accidents.
The coverage limits are ▲ 20 million KRW for death and permanent disability (excluding those under 15 years old) ▲ 300,000 to 700,000 KRW for diagnosis benefits (for diagnoses over 4 weeks) ▲ 20 million KRW for accident fines ▲ 2 million KRW for attorney fees ▲ 30 million KRW for traffic accident support funds, among others.
Along with this, the city will also expand the 'Visiting Bicycle Free Inspection Service,' which involves touring each eup, myeon, and dong to repair bicycles.
For the free inspection service in the first half of the year, starting on the 4th in Yongidong, a total of 65 sessions will be held across 25 eup, myeon, and dong areas until May. Citizens can receive bicycle maintenance services such as tire puncture repair and replacement, brake adjustment, and pad replacement. However, the cost of parts must be borne separately when replacing major components. The inspection service for the second half of the year is scheduled to take place from September to November.
