Utilizing a Total of 3,500 Pyeong of Idle Land, Including Abandoned Railway Sites and Pre-Development Areas
The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced that it will operate the Guri City Urban Farmer Experience Garden, utilizing a total of 3,500 pyeong of idle land, including abandoned railway land and vacant land before the start of development projects, to revitalize urban agriculture.
The Guri City Urban Farmer Experience Garden is established in two locations: 552-9 Galmae-dong (next to Seongeun Church) and 659-3 Inchang-dong (next to the military base), consisting of a total of 700 plots. Urban farmers who have completed basic farming education can cultivate and maintain the experience garden and gain hands-on training free of charge.
The garden plots are available in various sizes of 16㎡ and 10㎡, and applications are accepted online until the 16th.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “Guri City Urban Agriculture will work together so that many citizens can rediscover the value of life in nature within the city.”
