Can Be Used for Attending Performances and Exhibitions
Benefits for 1,701 People... Issuance Begins on the 6th
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 5th that starting from the 6th, it will support the ‘Youth Culture and Arts Pass’ for 19-year-old youths (born in 2006) in the city, which can be used for attending performances and exhibitions.
The ‘Youth Culture and Arts Pass’ can be applied for by any 19-year-old youth born in 2006, who legally becomes an adult under civil law. The pass, which can be used for attending performances and exhibitions in the arts field, can be issued online and used when booking tickets.
Introduced for the first time last year, this project was planned to provide cultural enjoyment opportunities to youths taking their first steps into society, and is implemented through cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, and local governments.
Paju City will support a total of 1,701 people with 150,000 KRW per person, and issuance will be on a first-come, first-served basis from the 6th until May 31. However, if the pass is not used even once by June 30, the support funds will be reclaimed.
Applications for issuance can be made on the Youth Culture and Arts Pass website, and the pass can be used when booking performances and exhibitions through partner ticketing sites (choose one from Interpark Ticket or Yes24 Ticket).
Bookings are limited to performances and exhibitions in the pure arts field, and cannot be used for popular singer concerts, fan meetings, lectures, or children’s experiential exhibitions.
Yu Cho-ja, Director of the Culture and Arts Division, said, “We hope that youths taking their first steps into society will experience culture and arts through the Youth Culture and Arts Pass and grow into cultured citizens with dignity.”
