The Most Frequently Washed Padding Jackets Are from The North Face... Moncler Mainly in Gangnam and Seocho

'Laundriego' reveals most laundered padding jackets and regional trends
AI Style Scanner analyzes brand, design, and color preferences
Moncler dominates premium segment, with Gangnam and Seocho leading in volume

The most frequently laundered padding jacket last year through the contactless mobile laundry service 'Laundriego' was found to be a product from The North Face. The luxury padding brand Moncler saw a high volume of items received from Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu in Seoul.

Uisikju Company announced the '2024 Padding Consumption Trends' on the 5th, utilizing its AI-based laundry analysis system 'AI Style Scanner.' The AI Style Scanner is Laundriego's core technology that automates laundry intake and sorting, and uses AI to analyze clothing brands, designs, materials, and washing history to understand customers' laundry patterns and preferences.

Analyzing 279,606 padding jackets laundered by Laundriego over the past year, the most laundered brands were ▲The North Face (11.9%) ▲Discovery Expedition (7.3%) ▲Nike (4.5%) in that order. While outdoor brands showed strong performance, Uniqlo ranked fifth with 4.3%, reflecting a trend toward practical consumption.

Moncler ranked sixth overall with a 4.1% market share. Its annual laundry volume was 11,463 pieces, significantly surpassing other premium brands. Notably, items received from Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu accounted for 29.7% of the total Moncler laundry volume.

The choice of padding design varied depending on the intended use. Among Uniqlo padding jackets, 61.1% featured collarless V-neck or round-neck designs, often used as inner padding due to their lightweight feel and practicality. In contrast, the proportion of inner padding among Moncler and The North Face was only 4.4% and 2.2%, respectively.

Black was the most common padding color, while white and beige colors showed differences by brand. Mid-to-low priced brands had white and beige colors accounting for over 40%, whereas high-end brands had about 20%, roughly half that amount. This is analyzed as reflecting the sensitivity of light colors to stains.

Seo Dong-hoon, head of AI technology at Uisikju Company, said, “Laundriego is building a hyper-personalized care solution using fashion data beyond high-quality laundry services,” adding, “We plan to continue precisely analyzing customers’ clothing data through AI Style Scanner and expand customized management services.”
