Daejeon City signed a "Railway-Linked Daejeon Tourism Promotion Business Agreement" with KORAIL Tourism Development at City Hall on the 4th, aiming to expand the attraction of tourists by utilizing railways.
The agreement includes: ▲ Support for the development and operation of railway travel packages linked to Daejeon's signature festivals such as the Daejeon 0 O'clock Festival ▲ Collaborative projects to increase the number of domestic and international tourists visiting Daejeon via railway ▲ Mutual cooperation for regional coexistence and shared management ▲ Other mutual cooperation for revitalizing the tourism industry and advancing the local economy.
Through this agreement, the city plans to significantly expand the attraction of tourists by operating train travel packages connecting major regions nationwide, including the Seoul metropolitan area, Gyeongsang region, and Jeolla region. The goal is to maximize the synergy of Daejeon's tourism and allow more travelers to experience the charm of Daejeon, the "Fun City."
Previously, in February last year, the city signed an agreement with KORAIL and operated Daejeon-bound tourist trains departing from the Seoul metropolitan area, attracting a total of about 3,100 train travelers.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "Through cooperation with KORAIL Tourism Development, traveling to Daejeon will become easier and more enjoyable," and added, "We will do our best to promote Daejeon's unique charm nationwide and establish it as a city people want to visit again."
