The Daejeon City Council announced that it has changed the title of its council newsletter to 'Daejeon Ieum' starting from the January-February 2025 issue.

Published bimonthly, 'Daejeon Ieum' was selected through a citizen contest held via the official SNS channels of the Daejeon City Council. 'Ieum' is a pure Korean word meaning 'to connect and combine,' symbolizing the council's aim to unite citizens' voices and foster communication and empathy.

The first issue of the new year includes a press briefing on the council's New Year plans and legislative direction, a special feature (Masters and Heroes) with an interview of Master Kim Namsu, a detailed Daejeon travel guide, and various content such as Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark.

Jo Wonhui, the publisher of 'Daejeon Ieum' and chairperson of the council, stated, "With the newsletter being renewed under a new name, it feels much closer to the citizens," and added, "We will continue to develop it as a comprehensive magazine that not only promotes council activities but also provides a wide range of useful information to citizens."

'Daejeon Ieum' can be viewed in real time in a mobile newsletter feed format by adding Daejeon City Council as a friend on its website E-book and Kakao channel.

Meanwhile, the council newsletter has been published six times a year as a free bimonthly magazine since November 2001, covering major council activities, ordinance policies, and lifestyle and cultural information.
