The non-profit organization Korea Sports Stacking Association (WSSA KOREA) has announced the "2025 School Sports Club Sports Stacking Competition Guidelines."
The 18th National School Sports Club Sports Stacking event in 2025 will be hosted by the Ministry of Education and the School Sports Promotion Agency, organized and commissioned by the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education and the Korea Sports Stacking Association. From May to October, preliminary rounds will be held by each of the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, culminating in a festival in November in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, where approximately 500 elementary, middle, and high school students representing their cities and provinces will participate.
The winners of the 17th National School Sports Club Festival Sports Stacking Competition were ▲ Boys Elementary Division: Chojeon Elementary School (Gyeongnam Office of Education) ▲ Girls Elementary Division: Samgye Elementary School (Gyeongnam Office of Education) ▲ Boys Middle School Division: Miribeol Middle School (Gyeongnam Office of Education) ▲ Girls Middle School Division: Gusan Middle School (Gyeongnam Office of Education). The 18th competition in 2025 will operate the high school division as a coed league.
The Korea Sports Stacking Association finalized the national competition guidelines and informed the School Sports Promotion Agency and the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education. In March, the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education will announce and provide guidelines on the Sports Stacking competition rules for the metropolitan and provincial superintendents of education and heads of education support offices. Regional briefings and training sessions will also be conducted in cooperation with local education officers. Notably, this season, the fair play competition regulations have been improved to ensure that participating students experience true sportsmanship, fairness, and a sense of community in the sports environment.
School Sports Clubs refer to sports clubs (clubs) operated by each metropolitan and provincial office of education registered in NEIS (National Education Information System), composed of students from the same school who have an interest in sports activities, targeting elementary, middle, and high school students. These clubs provide students with regular opportunities to participate in physical activities, positively impacting their physical, mental, and psychological health. In particular, sports stacking is an indoor sport that can be safely challenged and competed in anywhere without being affected by external environments. Since it involves no physical contact, it is highly popular among female students and widely used as a school sports club activity.
The School Sports Club competition holds preliminary matches from May under the regional education support office heads' cups, and from August to October, the winning teams of the 17 metropolitan and provincial superintendents' cups participate in the National School Sports Club Festival. This year, the event will be held in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, with the high school division operating as a coed league.
Meanwhile, the Korea Sports Stacking Association will dispatch a national team of 20 athletes to the 2025 WSSA World Sports Stacking Championship international competition held in Leiden, Switzerland (April 25?27). Speed Stacks Korea, the season sponsor, will support the Korean team’s airfare and accommodation expenses under the international competition sponsorship agreement.
The 2025-26 season will feature 11 events, including five Challenge tournaments serving as national team selection events for the WSSA Asian Sports Stacking Championship in Dalian, China (October 24?26), the Korea Open tournament with a total prize money of 5 million KRW, and regional certified competitions. Detailed information is available on the Korea Sports Stacking Association website.
