Singer Sean Runs Even on March 1st... Donates 220 Million Won to Descendants of Independence Activists

Hosted the '2025 3.1 Run' with Korea Habitat
Sean: "It is meaningful to be able to help"
Total cumulative donations exceed 6 billion KRW

Singer Sean donated the participation fees and corporate sponsorship funds collected through the 3.1 Movement Day commemorative marathon.


YG Entertainment announced on the 2nd that Sean held the 3.1 Movement Day commemorative marathon and generously donated approximately 220 million KRW for the descendants of independence activists. Sean hosted the '2025 3.1 Run' at Seoul's Sangam World Cup Park the day before, in collaboration with Korea Habitat. He ran the last 3.1 km segment of the 31 km course, which was run by 31 participants including actors Jin Seon-kyu, Lee Jae-yoon, and Lim Se-mi, and then ran an additional 3.1 km with about 1,000 individual participants.

The event raised about 224 million KRW, combining the full participation fees from 3,100 individual participants and corporate sponsorships. Sean donated this amount to Korea Habitat to support comfortable and safe homes for the descendants of independence activists. He said, "I am glad that the '3.1 Run,' which runs while reflecting on the meaning of the 3.1 Movement Day, is growing every year with more participants," and added, "It is meaningful to be able to contribute to helping the descendants of independence activists live in better environments."


Meanwhile, the '2025 3.1 Run' is a charity run to remember the sacrifices and dedication of independence activists and to support their descendants in living in comfortable housing environments. Since 2020, Sean has been conducting the '8.15 Run' and, since 2021, the '3.1 Run' campaigns to improve the housing conditions of independence activists' descendants on Liberation Day and 3.1 Movement Day, respectively. The funds raised so far have been used to build new homes for 17 families of independence activists' descendants, and the 18th and 19th houses are currently under construction. Sean's total cumulative donations to date are reported to exceed 6 billion KRW.
