Supporting Public Digital Transformation with Generative AI and Cloud
Including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Onnara System" and Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy's Education Management System
Samsung SDS (Samsung SDS) announced on the 4th that it has secured contracts for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Onnara System Cloud Native Transition' project and Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy's 'Smart Fire Education and Management System Cloud Native Transition' project, both based on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP).
Samsung SDS explained that these projects are significant as pilot projects utilizing cloud technology for innovation in the public sector.

The Onnara System is a work system used by central administrative agencies and local government officials for knowledge, community, electronic documents, mail, video conferencing, and more. Samsung SDS plans to transition some systems such as knowledge and community to SCP and support the stable operation of these services.
The Smart Education and Management System is designed to provide fire education regardless of the residence or workplace of the trainees at the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy. Samsung SDS will provide the system through SCP and focus on building an environment for joint operation of fire education institutions nationwide in the future.
The public-private partnership cloud project is a business where private cloud companies lease part of the government’s data center space to provide cloud services to administrative and public institutions. Through this, the public sector can also use cloud services that incorporate the latest private sector technologies. Samsung SDS’s SCP, built on the public-private partnership cloud, uses infrastructure and security environments dedicated to national institutions and operates by physically separating the internet network, administrative work network, and public work network.
Additionally, Samsung SDS offers GPU as a Service (GPUaaS), providing optimized cloud services for administrative and public institutions aiming to utilize generative artificial intelligence (AI). Some government agencies are already using generative AI by applying SCP and GPUaaS.
