As prices of ice cream, beverages, and snacks sold at convenience stores have all risen this month, convenience stores are offering their private brand (PB) products at special prices to prevent customer attrition.

According to the industry on the 3rd, prices of major ice cream, beverages, and snacks sold at convenience stores have all increased since the 1st.
Lotte Wellfood's World Cone, Double Bianco, Ppangppare, Gugu Cone, and Seolleim each rose by 300 won from 2,200 won to 2,500 won. Selection increased by 1,000 won from 8,000 won to 9,000 won, and Naturru mini cups and bars rose by 1,100 won from 4,800 won to 5,900 won.
Binggrae's Bungeo Samanco and Ppangtoa increased by 300 won from 2,200 won to 2,500 won, and Thewisanyang, which was 1,800 won, rose by 400 won to 2,200 won.
Haitai's Bravo Cone increased from 2,200 won to 2,500 won, and Pola Po rose from 1,800 won to 2,200 won.
Beverage prices also increased. Woongjin Foods' 500ml Green Plum and Morning Sunshine rose by 200 won from 2,150 won to 2,350 won, and Sky Barley PET, Corn Silk Tea, and Five-Grain Nurungji PET each increased by 200 won from 2,000 won to 2,200 won.
Prices of chocolate and chocolate-containing snacks also increased similarly. Dream Cacao 72% chocolate is sold at 5,000 won, up 1,000 won, and Ghana Chocolate 70g rose by 600 won from 2,800 won to 3,400 won. Pepero increased from 1,800 won to 2,000 won, Kancho (cup) from 2,400 won to 2,800 won. Cereal Choco (cup) rose by 100 won to 2,800 won, and Margaret increased by 100 won to 3,400 won. Mon Cher Cream and Mon Cher Cacao each increased by 200 won.
Additionally, the price of Asahi beer 500ml can rose by 400 won to 4,900 won, Kellogg's Corn Frost Bar (35g) increased from 1,500 won to 1,700 won, and Yuhan Clorox 1L rose from 3,700 won to 4,000 won.
The four major convenience store chains are offering some private brand (PB) products at special prices to prevent customer attrition due to price increases.
GS25 has been selling its PB product 'Real Price' chicken breast (100g) at 1,800 won, down 500 won (22%) from 2,300 won since the 13th of last month. GS25 plans to expand the Real Price product line to about 100 items this year, starting with the launch of two refrigerated noodle products, Wando Gim Udon and Anchovy Kalguksu, priced in the 1,000 won range earlier this year. Also, GS25 will lower the price of hot Americano at Cafe25 from 1,300 won to 1,000 won until the end of this month. Additionally, when paying with a Samsung Card, customers can enjoy a buy-one-get-one-free (1+1) offer on six types of lattes. GS25 explained that the price reduction aims to allow customers to experience Cafe25 at an affordable price amid widespread high inflation and to contribute to price stabilization.
CU also lowered prices of five types of coffee from its PB pouch beverage brand 'Delafe' by 100 to 200 won at the end of last month. CU plans to further expand its ultra-low-price PB 'Deuktem Series' product line this year. This includes the industry's lowest-priced 990 won Deuktem hot bar and highly cost-effective domestic refrigerated chicken skewers.
Seven Eleven has launched the PB brand 'Good' series focusing on items with significant price increases such as eggs, tofu, bread, and pouch beverages, currently operating 30 items and planning to expand the lineup further.
Emart24 also launched its cost-effective food PB project 'End of Imagination' earlier this year, starting with '1,900 Gimbap' and '3,600 Bibimbap' as the first phase, followed by the second phase last month with '900 Triangle Gimbap' and '2,900 Jjajangmyeon,' and this month consecutively released '2,900 Rice Bowl,' '2,200 Cheeseburger,' and '3,000 Yeontan Brownie.'
