Daytime High Temperatures to Range from 3 to 11 Degrees Celsius

More than 5 cm of heavy snow per hour is expected along the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, and 3 to 5 cm of heavy, wet snow is forecast for inland Gyeonggi, northern Chungbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk. Strong rain of 10 to 20 mm per hour is expected in the Chungnam region, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island, with possible gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning in some areas, so caution is advised. The central region, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk areas may experience a lull from morning through the night.

The expected snowfall from the 2nd to the 3rd is 20 to 50 cm along the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon, with some places receiving more than 70 cm. The northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk are expected to get 10 to 40 cm, and inland Gyeonggi, northern Chungbuk, and inland Gyeongbuk are forecast to receive 5 to 20 cm. Seoul, the western metropolitan area, and central to southern Chungbuk are expected to have 3 to 10 cm, while other areas such as Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Daegu will see about 1 to 5 cm of snow.

During the same period, precipitation is expected to be 10 to 60 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, 30 to 80 mm along the east coasts of Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, and 20 to 60 mm in other Chungcheong, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions. Jeju Island is expected to receive 20 to 70 mm of rain, with mountainous areas seeing more than 80 mm.

The morning low temperatures are forecast to be between -3 and 5 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 3 and 11 degrees Celsius.

Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' nationwide.

Strong winds and high waves are expected at sea. Waves will rise to 2.0 to 5.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 5.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters.
