Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon will attend the joint “National Rally Urging the Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol” held by the five opposition parties at the Anguk-dong intersection in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 1st.
Governor Kim has previously participated in candlelight vigils in front of the National Assembly following President Yoon Seok-yeol’s declaration of martial law in December last year. He first visited the candlelight vigil site in front of the National Assembly on December 7, last year, when the impeachment motion against President Yoon was submitted to the plenary session of the National Assembly. He also joined the Seoul candlelight vigils on December 9 and 10 after finishing his work.
On December 11, after work, he held a one-person protest in Na Hye-seok Street, Ingye-dong, Suwon, holding a placard that read “Arrest Yoon Seok-yeol Immediately! Impeach Immediately!!”.
Governor Kim has also continuously called for President Yoon’s arrest and impeachment through his social media accounts.
Meanwhile, the five opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea, will hold the “National Rally Urging the Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol” at the Anguk-dong intersection from 3:30 p.m. on the same day. The organizers expect around 20,000 people to gather.
