March Memorial Sites in Busan Area, Dongnae Market 3·1 Movement Manse Protest Site

The Busan Regional Veterans Office (Director Lee Nam-il) is selecting and promoting the 'Memorial Facility of the Month' to increase interest in memorial facilities and spread a culture of veterans affairs in daily life.

In March 2025, the Busan Regional Veterans Office designated the 'Dongnae Market 3.1 Movement Manse Demonstration Site,' located in Suan-dong, Dongnae-gu, as the Memorial Facility of the Month.

As the spirit of the March 1st Movement spread in the Busan area, students of Dongnae High School planned a Manse demonstration, and the public responded enthusiastically. On March 13, the Dongnae market day, the Manse demonstration was held near Mangmiru and the south gate of Dongnae Eupseong. This event is regarded as the starting point of the independence movement involving the general public in Busan.

The Busan Regional Veterans Office is implementing projects to establish and designate memorial facilities to promote respect and honor for those who dedicated themselves to the country, and to reflect on and inherit their noble spirit of sacrifice and contributions close to everyday life.
