Proactive Administration Training Held in Jangsu County
Strategies for Responding to Population Decline and Regional Crises
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province held the '2025 Proactive Administration Training' for around 150 public officials at the county community center on the 27th.
According to the county on the 28th, the training was conducted under the theme "A Shrinking World, What Should We Do!" and featured a lecture by Professor Hong Eui-taek from Gachon University.
Professor Hong provided tailored explanations to enhance understanding of population decline and regional extinction phenomena, while also urging public officials to engage in proactive administration to respond to crises.

In particular, he drew attention by presenting sustainable future strategies, such as reviewing domestic and international cases of overcoming crises and proposing effective policies for changes in Jangsu County's population structure. The county plans to proactively respond to local crises based on proactive administration and innovation by public officials.
County Governor Choi Hunsik stated, "As changes in the region's population structure continue, sustainable future strategies are essential for the county's long-term vision," and added, "I ask all staff to become the driving force for positive change and innovation in the county through proactive administration."
Meanwhile, the county has been making continuous efforts to spread and vitalize proactive administration, as evidenced by being selected as the top institution in last year's '2024 Local Government Proactive Administration Comprehensive Evaluation' and receiving the Prime Minister's Award.
