Buan County Offers Free Shingles Vaccinations for Residents Aged 60 and Over

For 7,586 County Residents... Those with Previous Vaccination History Excluded

Buan County, North Jeolla Province, announced on the 28th that it will provide free shingles vaccinations this year to 7,586 county residents aged 60 and over.

This year's free vaccination program is available to Buan residents aged 60 and over who have been registered as residents in the county for at least one year as of the vaccination date.

However, residents who have previously received a shingles vaccination or are contraindicated for the shingles vaccine are excluded from the program. The vaccination support consists of a single dose of the live vaccine.

Those wishing to receive the shingles vaccination should visit a public health center or subcenter with identification. For vaccination schedules and further details, please refer to the Buan County Public Health Center website or contact the vaccination office.

County Governor Kwon Ikhyeon said, "Shingles is a disease that can cause significant difficulties in daily life due to pain and complications. Through this free vaccination program, we will actively work to reduce the medical expenses of our residents, protect their health, and improve their quality of life."
