Kim Taeheum Presents Letter of Appointment
Chungnam Province has appointed Jun Heekyung, a former member of the National Assembly, as the 12th president of the Chungnam Research Institute, marking the first time in 30 years since its founding that a woman has held this position.
On the 28th, President Jun received her letter of appointment from Governor Kim Taeheum and officially began her policy support activities. The official inauguration ceremony is scheduled to be held at the institute on March 4.
President Jun stated, "The Chungnam Research Institute is the representative think tank for provincial policy research and serves as a key partner not only for the 8th popularly elected administration but also for shaping a sustainable Chungcheongnam-do over the next 100 years." She added, "As this year marks the 30th anniversary of both local autonomy and the institute's founding, I will lead the institute through communication and cooperation to realize the happiness of our 2 million residents."
She further emphasized, "By strengthening our capabilities and operating the organization organically to enhance the institute's competitiveness, we will focus on resolving major long-standing projects of Chungnam Province, securing national funding, and being selected for national projects, thereby achieving visible results."
President Jun is a graduate of Ewha Womans University with a degree in Public Administration. She has previously served as Policy Team Leader at the Korea Economic Research Institute, a member of the 20th National Assembly, and Senior Secretary for Political Affairs at the Presidential Office. She is currently serving as a member of the National Assembly Public Officials Ethics Committee.
