Hongseong County Provides Educational Support for Children from Low-Income Families

300,000 KRW for Elementary, 400,000 KRW for Middle, 500,000 KRW for High School Students

On the 28th, Hongseong County in Chungnam announced the implementation of the "2025 Educational Expense Support Program for Children from Low-Income Families" to reduce the educational cost burden on low-income households and provide equal educational opportunities.

The eligible recipients are students attending schools under Article 2 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, who belong to households with a resident registration in Hongseong County as of the application date and have a median income exceeding 50% but not exceeding 70%.

Elementary school students will receive 300,000 KRW, middle school students 400,000 KRW, and high school students 500,000 KRW, each provided via voucher cards that can be used at arts, sports, and vocational academies, bookstores, and other designated locations within Chungnam Province.

Applications can be submitted in person at the local township administrative welfare center corresponding to the applicant's registered address from March 4 to 31. When applying, households wishing to receive support must also apply for educational benefits, as this is required for the calculation of recognized income.

Yoon Sanggu, head of the County Education and Sports Division, stated, "We hope that supporting educational expenses for children from low-income families will provide an opportunity for students, who are the future of Hongseong County, to pursue their dreams without financial burden," and added, "We will continue to actively support the creation of a fair and diverse educational environment so that Hongseong County students can focus on their desired studies."
