If You Enroll, You Get Paid... Busan Gijang-gun Supports New Elementary, Middle, and High School Students with 100,000 Won Congratulations Money

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) announced on the 27th that it will provide 100,000 KRW as an entrance celebration fund to new students entering elementary, middle, and high schools this year.

The entrance celebration fund support project is a major educational support initiative promoted by Gijang-gun since last year to ease the financial burden of education on parents and to encourage students' new beginnings.

The eligibility for the entrance celebration fund is new students who are registered residents of Gijang-gun as of March 4, 2025, and are entering elementary, middle, high schools, or alternative education institutions.

The application period is from March 4 to December 12. Students themselves or their parent guardians can visit the administrative welfare center in their town or township or apply online through the Government24 (Bojo-geum24) website. After applying, the eligibility verification process, including confirmation of residence and enrollment status, will be conducted, and the fund will be paid to the applicant's account after mid-next month from the application date.

Additionally, the county supports uniform purchase costs only for high school entrants. The uniform purchase cost is supported up to a maximum of 340,000 KRW per person, including both winter and summer uniforms, and is provided upon the first uniform purchase. The application method and period for the uniform purchase cost support are the same as those for the entrance celebration fund.

Jeong Jong-bok, Governor of Gijang-gun, said, “We expect this support to improve students' academic environment and reduce the burden of education expenses,” adding, “We will continue to implement various educational policies to create a stable educational environment and provide fair educational opportunities.”
