The Corporate Sympathy Support Group Tech Master is a consulting talent pool that Korea Maritime and Ocean University plans to operate to support the resolution of technical difficulties faced by local companies. It consists of retired professors, executives of large corporations, and researchers with extensive R&D know-how and industrial field experience.

Korea Maritime and Ocean University established this office to build a practical cooperation and support system with local companies ahead of the full-scale implementation of the Busan-type RISE project for mutual growth between the university and the region this year.

In the first year of Tech Master implementation, the plan is to form a talent pool of about 10 people and support the resolution of more than 20 technical difficulties faced by companies. The university intends to expand the talent pool and the number of supported cases annually.

Since Yongdang Campus, the largest industry-academia-research specialized campus in the southeastern region, has been selected for the government's Campus Innovation Park project and is being developed into an urban high-tech industrial complex, Korea Maritime and Ocean University expects significant operational effects from Tech Master. Currently, about 170 companies and research institutes are located here, and approximately 150 more institutions are expected to move in in connection with the RISE project.

In line with the full-scale start of the Busan-type RISE project, Korea Maritime and Ocean University plans to proceed with the formation of the talent pool and administrative procedures at this office, starting with the plaque unveiling ceremony, to operate Tech Master.

Bae Sang-hoon, President of Korea Maritime and Ocean University, said, “We will continue to strive to support and cooperate with companies that will lead the future growth of the region for mutual growth between the region and the university.”
