Mokpo City Recruiting Participants for Mokpo Music Play Competition

Mokpo City, Jeonnam (Mayor Park Hongryul) is recruiting participants for the 2025 Mokpo Music Play Competition, 'Singing Mokpo'.

According to the city on the 27th, the 2025 Mokpo Music Play is scheduled to be held from May 23 to 25 at the Mokpo Sports Complex, and to commemorate the event, the nationwide competition 'Singing Mokpo' will be held as well.

This competition, established to discover singer-songwriters who reflect the identity of Mokpo, is open to anyone capable of writing lyrics, composing, and singing, regardless of genre. The lyrics of the submitted song must include at least one word related to 'Mokpo'.

The competition offers a total prize of 11.5 million KRW and an opportunity to debut on the MBC K-Pop YouTube channel. Through an online video preliminary round, 12 to 15 teams will be selected, and then the final 5 teams will be chosen at the main competition on May 24.

Applications can be submitted individually or as a team until April 30, by sending the application form and a video of the song via email. The application form can be downloaded from the Mokpo City website.
