L&F Establishes a 'Two-Track Strategy' with LFP and NCM
Secondary battery material company L&F will participate in 'InterBattery 2025,' the largest battery specialized exhibition in Korea. L&F aims to mass-produce LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cathode materials for batteries for the first time in Korea by 2026, and plans to showcase related new technologies at this exhibition.
L&F announced on the 27th that it will participate in InterBattery 2025, held from the 5th to the 7th of next month at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and set up a booth under the theme 'Leading the Future.' L&F will introduce next-generation battery material technologies at a 270㎡ (approximately 82 pyeong) booth, about 3.75 times larger than last year's booth.

L&F announced that it will accelerate its entry into the global market through a 'two-track strategy' of LFP cathode materials and high-nickel NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) cathode materials. The company will exhibit its proprietary LFP process technology with improved productivity in the cathode material exhibition zone. L&F explained that this technology simultaneously secures production efficiency and price competitiveness. Currently, L&F has completed the establishment of a pilot line for LFP cathode materials at its Plant 3 in Guji, Daegu, and plans to mass-produce LFP for the first time in Korea by 2026.
They will also introduce 'high-nickel composite cathode active materials' targeting the high-performance electric vehicle market. This product applies both polycrystalline and single-crystal technologies, increasing energy density and battery life compared to existing high-nickel materials. L&F received an award in the materials and components category at the 'InterBattery Awards 2025' for this technology.
Choi Su-an, CEO of L&F, said, "Despite uncertain market conditions, L&F is overcoming crises and opening the future of battery material technology through continuous innovation," adding, "Based on the differentiated technologies and global production system unveiled at this exhibition, we will leap forward as a true global leader."
