The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants to Hold the 17th Sustainability Certification Forum on the 6th of Next Month

The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 27th that it will hold the "17th Sustainability Assurance Forum" on the 6th of next month.

The theme of this forum, conducted as a webinar (online seminar), is "Verifiability of International Sustainability Reporting Standards (IFRS S1, S2)," and Professor Hyejin Ahn of Hongik University will explain the analysis results and response measures.

In the comprehensive discussion, Professor Kyuan Jeon of Soongsil University will serve as the chair, with panelists including Eunhae Ko, Head of Sustainvest, Professor Heeyeon Sunwoo of Sejong University, Partner Changtaek Oh of Han Young Accounting Corporation, Team Leader Seungpil Lee of Yuhan-Kimberly, Standing Commissioner Woonghee Lee of the Korea Accounting Standards Board, Committee Member Jungwoo Lee of BSI Group, and Research Fellow Hyoseop Lee of the Korea Capital Market Institute participating in the discussion.

Choi Un-yeol, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, stated, "For sustainability-related information to have reliability, verifiability must be supported," and added, "We hope this forum will serve as a valuable platform for discussions that enhance the quality and reliability of sustainability information."

Meanwhile, through the Sustainability Assurance Forum, the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants not only widely shares professional knowledge about sustainability assurance within the accounting industry but also carries out various sustainability-related projects such as translating and educating on international assurance standards, operating an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Academy, and publishing booklets.
