Reducing the Burden on Multi-Child Families
and Promoting Consumption of Local Agricultural and Marine Products
Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk Province will implement the ‘Multi-Child Family Agricultural and Marine Products Purchase Coupon Support Project’ starting March 4 to reduce the childcare burden on multi-child families and promote the consumption of local agricultural and marine products.
The support targets families where at least one parent resides in Yeongju City and is raising two or more children, with at least one child under the age of 19 eligible to apply.
Coupons will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and can be applied for online starting March 4 through the ‘Gyeongbuk Low Birthrate Overcoming Integrated Application System.’ After applying, the selection results will be notified individually via text message, and selected households can use the online coupons at the Gyeongsangbuk-do shopping mall ‘Saiseo’ and Yeongju City’s directly operated online shopping mall ‘Yeongju Jangnal.’
Starting this year, a differentiated payment method based on the number of children will be applied. Unlike last year, when 50,000 KRW was uniformly provided to families with two or more children, coupons worth 50,000 KRW for two children, 70,000 KRW for three children, and 100,000 KRW for families with four or more children will be issued.
Park Nam-seo, Mayor of Yeongju City, said, “I hope this project, which provides practical benefits to multi-child families, will help ease the childcare burden,” adding, “We will spare no effort in various policy supports to create an atmosphere where multi-child families are favored.”
