Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Office Hosts Group Screening of the Film 'Baeksan, from Uiryeong to Balhae'

The Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office under the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs held a group screening of the film on the 26th, attended by about 100 people including descendants and families of the Liberation Association and students from Bongnim Youth Culture Center.

This event was organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation and the March 1st Movement, aiming to widely promote the values and spirit of the independence movement and to impart historical lessons to young people.


The film focuses on Baeksan An Hee-je, an independence activist from Uiryeong, highlighting his activities in the independence movement and anti-Japanese struggles. Participants had a meaningful time reflecting on the sacrifices and dedication of the patriots through the film, gaining a deeper understanding of the spirit of the independence movement.


Notably, director Jin Jae-woon attended the event in person and held a 'Q&A with the Director' session after the screening, communicating with the participants. The director explained the filmmaking process and efforts to capture the spirit of the independence activists, providing a valuable opportunity to answer attendees' questions.


A representative from the Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office stated, "We hope this film screening served as an opportunity to honor the patriotism of the independence activists and especially to instill historical lessons in young people," adding, "We will continue to promote veterans culture in various ways."
