Hanwha Vice President Kim Dong-seon Expands 10 Million Won Childcare Support Fund from Distribution to Machinery

Meeting Junior Employees Directly to Hear Their Concerns
Accelerating 'Employee Accompaniment' by Expanding Support Divisions

Four companies in Hanwha Group's machinery division (Robotics, Momentum, Vision, Semitech) will provide a 'Childcare Accompaniment Support Fund' of 10 million KRW to families with newborns. This expansion of the support fund was driven by Kim Dong-seon, Vice President of Future Vision and the third son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon, who personally met with employees expecting childbirth to listen to their difficulties.

Hanwha Group announced on the 27th that the childcare accompaniment support fund system in the machinery division will be implemented starting next month. Benefits will be provided regardless of the number of births, and in the case of multiple births such as twins, the support will be given according to the number of newborns.

The childcare accompaniment support fund is a recently established system by some Hanwha Group affiliates to help employees balance work and family life. Led by Vice President Kim Dong-seon, who listened to the concerns of junior employees, Galleria and Hotel & Resort (including subsidiaries) were the first to introduce the program. As of February, a total of 14 families in the distribution and service division have received support funds.

The company explained that the expansion to the machinery division just two months after implementation in the distribution and service division was due to Vice President Kim’s strong will as the head of future vision for both divisions. After the system was established, Vice President Kim personally met with employees expecting childbirth to reaffirm the necessity and effectiveness of the support, and ordered the expansion of the support program.

Vice President Kim said, "Listening to the various concerns of employees expecting childbirth and childcare, I once again realized the necessity of support," adding, "We will continue various employee accompaniment programs so that the company can genuinely help employees overcome their real difficulties, not just formally accompany them."
