Pilot Operation Begins on March 5
A venue has been prepared where visitors can experience an intact forest while breathing fresh air under Cheonwangbong Peak of Jirisan.
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 27th that it will begin a two-month pilot operation of the ‘Jungsan Tourist Site Forest Experience Facility (hereinafter Forest Experience Facility)’ starting March 5.
As part of the Jungsan Tourist Site revitalization project, the Forest Experience Facility was created with a total investment of 2.4 billion KRW, covering a land area of 9,127㎡ and a total floor area of 132.51㎡.
The Forest Experience Facility located in Jungsan-ri, Sicheon-myeon, within the Jungsan Tourist Site (above the Jirisan Partisan Suppression Exhibition Hall) consists of net experience facilities, a forest playground, and resting shelters.
In particular, the net experience facilities include eco walks and aerial nets, allowing visitors to experience various and unique net structures in the air.
Additionally, hill slides and other play facilities were created so visitors can enjoy the natural forest environment of Jirisan along with the playground equipment.
The Forest Experience Facility is available for use by those aged 7 and older, but preschool children can also use it when accompanied by a guardian.
Lee Seunghwa, the head of Sancheong-gun, said, “We hope that the establishment of this Forest Experience Facility will lead to an increase in family visitors and contribute to revitalizing the local economy,” adding, “We will do our utmost to prevent inconvenience and safety accidents for facility users.”
