Simultaneous Processing of Electricity Business and Development Activity Permits
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it will simplify the permit procedures by processing electricity business permits and development activity permits simultaneously to alleviate inconveniences for solar power facility installation operators.
Until now, to operate a solar power generation business, one had to first obtain an electricity business permit from the city hall and then separately acquire a development activity permit from the Urban Architecture Division of each district office.
However, with this procedural improvement, when applying for an electricity business permit, operators can submit development activity-related documents together, and the two permits will be processed at once through interdepartmental consultation.
The city plans to apply this method to three district offices?Cheoin, Giheung, and Suji?so that permits can be obtained through the same procedure in all areas.
A Yongin City official stated, "We expect the processing time to be shortened and the inconveniences faced by operators to be greatly reduced through this procedural improvement," adding, "We will continue to strive to make administrative services more convenient for citizens."
