Gyeonggi Province will supply eco-friendly agricultural products worth 400,000 KRW per person to approximately 35,000 pregnant women.
On the 27th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will recruit recipients for the "Gyeonggi Pregnant Women Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products Support" program, which provides eco-friendly agricultural product packages to pregnant women, from March 5 to 28.
Applicants must reside in one of the 31 cities and counties within the province and be either currently pregnant as of the application date or have given birth after January 1, 2024.
If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, approximately 35,000 recipients will be selected through a lottery.
Selected pregnant women will receive eco-friendly agricultural products worth a total of 400,000 KRW, paying 20% of the cost themselves, with deliveries made 1 to 4 times per month per person.
This year, considering the increase in grocery prices, the purchase limit per transaction has been raised from 120,000 KRW to 200,000 KRW.
Pregnant women wishing to apply can do so online via Gyeonggi Minwon 24 (gg24.gg.go.kr) or visit their local eup, myeon, or dong community service center with supporting documents such as a birth certificate or pregnancy confirmation.
Park Jong-min, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Agriculture, Fisheries and Life Sciences Bureau, stated, "By supplying eco-friendly agricultural products to pregnant women and new mothers, we aim to promote the health of future generations through safe food and contribute significantly to increasing farmers' income by securing sales channels for eco-friendly agricultural producers within the province. Therefore, we plan to continue expanding this program."
