Resident-Centered Policies Such as Climate Response in Agriculture and Food Sector Receive Positive Reviews
Haenam County in Jeonnam Province (Governor Myung Hyun-kwan) has been selected as an outstanding institution in the 2024 Local Government Innovation Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
According to the county on the 26th, this evaluation comprehensively assessed the innovation capabilities, achievements, and public satisfaction of 243 local governments nationwide, and Haenam County was named as one of the 61 outstanding institutions.
The county has been recognized for its achievements in raising residents' satisfaction through various innovative policies. In particular, based on the innovative leadership of its head, Haenam County received excellent evaluations in 8 out of 11 detailed indicators, including participation and internalization of innovation activities, field-oriented communication, resolving livelihood issues, improving resident services, and addressing administrative blind spots.
Key achievements include policies responding to climate change in the agricultural and food sector. The county has been promoting various resident participation projects that lead low-carbon agriculture and carbon neutrality, creating a sustainable agricultural environment.
Haenam County's leading innovative policies are making significant contributions to sustainable development for future generations. Resident-focused innovation initiatives have also received a great response. Programs such as the "Visiting Health 100-Year Happiness Bus" for medically underserved areas, operation of resident-friendly waterfront spaces, and the "Hope House" support for households affected by fires have provided tangible benefits to residents.
In particular, the "Triple Community Integrated Care" policy established a one-stop service system integrating health, welfare, and care to proactively address aging issues. In addition, the "Public-Private Partnership Rural Vacant House Regeneration Project" has revitalized rural communities and attracted population inflow by utilizing idle resources in rural areas.
Governor Myung Hyun-kwan stated, "This selection as an outstanding institution is an achievement made together with our residents," and added, "We will continue to create innovative results that residents can truly feel and develop innovative models for the advancement of Haenam County."
