Jindo County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Heesu) has selected the Outstanding Active Administration Collaboration Team and Outstanding Public Officials for the second half of 2024.
According to the county on the 26th, this selection was carried out to encourage a culture of active administration by recognizing outstanding collaboration teams and public officials who have demonstrated creativity and expertise in their work.
For the outstanding active administration cases recommended by each department, a first-round practical review was conducted, followed by a staff vote and presentation evaluation. The evaluation comprehensively considered factors such as ▲citizen satisfaction ▲collaboration and communication ▲proactivity of the person in charge ▲importance and difficulty of the task ▲creativity and expertise ▲potential for expansion. After deliberation and resolution by the Active Administration Support Committee, one outstanding collaboration team and five outstanding public official teams (10 individuals) were finally selected.
The Outstanding Collaboration Team (Research and Development Division, Agricultural Technology Center) successfully hosted the Jindo County Chrysanthemum Festival last year on Bobaeseom, resulting in a 50% increase in visitors compared to 2023, with 72,000 attendees. Not only did the festival establish itself as a success, but by outsourcing chrysanthemum production to local farms, it also generated approximately 500 million KRW in additional agricultural income, contributing to increased farm income.
The five Outstanding Active Administration Public Official teams included one Grand Prize team, one Excellence team, one Encouragement team, and two Effort teams. The Grand Prize-winning case, "Active Administration for Increased Farm Income Despite Harsh Winter" (Junnamyeon Office: Team Leader Jeong Seokrae, Officer Lee Taeil), achieved a remarkable 657 million KRW (21%) increase in farm income by proactively securing additional allocations from Jeollanam-do and unclaimed quantities from farms, despite a 9.4% drop in the public rice purchase price.
The Excellence Award-winning case, "Ensuring Equal Vaccine Access for All Residents for a Healthy Winter" (Infectious Disease Control Division: Team Leader Yong Sujin, Officer Kim Minju), actively utilized contract doctors for vulnerable facilities and operated a visiting vaccination team, achieving 87% of the project target. As a result, it received the highest score in the vaccination project category of Jeollanam-do's 2024 Infectious Disease Prevention and Management Project.
The Encouragement Award-winning case, "Tourism Dure Project to Discover Resident-Led Tourism Models" (Tourism Division: Team Leader Lee Daeyoung, Officer Park Jinsun), actively supported four resident businesses?Bobaeya Nolja, Sambyeolcho Healing Farm, Jindo Rest, and Honghongdan?to be selected for the Tourism Dure public contest, which is designed and implemented by local residents. This contributed to revitalizing local tourism and increasing resident income.
The Effort Awards were jointly given to two cases: "Investment Attraction for Jindo Regional Economic Development" (Team Leader Oh Guiseok, Officer Kim Minkook), which supported the establishment of a Special Purpose Company (SPC) and facilitated land sales and new business attraction to normalize the county's general industrial complex, earning an Excellence Award in Jeollanam-do's 2024 Investment Attraction Comprehensive Evaluation; and "Realizing a Clean Jindo Free from Livestock Infectious Diseases" (Jindo Dog Livestock Division: Team Leader Oh Seokil, Officer Jo Jiyeon), which established a rapid response system for livestock diseases and received an Excellence Award for two consecutive years in Jeollanam-do's Comprehensive Animal Quarantine and Hygiene Policy Evaluation.
The county plans to provide domestic and overseas training opportunities for the outstanding collaboration team and grant special leave, bonuses, and additional performance evaluation points to the five outstanding public official teams.
A county official stated, "This selection was conducted to highlight the remarkable achievements of public officials who quietly do their best in their positions and to encourage a culture of active administration," adding, "We will continue to strive to foster a public service community that serves residents with a proactive attitude."
