All-out Efforts to Minimize Livestock Disease Damage
Buan County in North Jeolla Province will continue its livestock disease prevention medicine support project this year.
According to the county on the 26th, this support project has been prepared to prevent livestock diseases in advance and minimize disease damage for livestock farmers.
To this end, the county collected opinions from livestock organizations, the Veterinary Association, and the Livestock Hygiene and Quarantine Support Headquarters through the 2025 Livestock Disease Prevention Council, and checked and reviewed the current status of disease prevention measures for blocking livestock diseases.
At the council, the purchase of livestock infectious disease prevention vaccines and disinfectants was deliberated and selected, and the county plans to invest 1.037 billion won in the livestock disease prevention medicine support project budget, an increase of 233 million won compared to last year.
Starting next month, the county plans to purchase prevention vaccines and medicines according to the season and supply them to farms in a timely manner, making every effort to prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases and minimize damage by improving livestock immunity.
A county official said, "Damage from livestock diseases such as AI remains significant," and added, "We expect the livestock disease prevention medicine support project will boost productivity and enhance the competitiveness of livestock farms."
