Gwangju City has designated Aimam Children's Hospital and Mirae Children's Hospital in Buk-gu as the '3rd Dalbit Children's Hospitals,' following Gwangju Christian Hospital in Nam-gu and Gwangju Central Hospital in Gwangsan-gu.

This initiative will provide specialized pediatric care for mild cases 365 days a year during medically underserved hours for children and adolescents in Buk-gu and nearby areas, thereby strengthening the safe medical system for children by addressing gaps in care and improving accessibility.

According to Gwangju City on the 25th, Aimam Children's Hospital and Bukgu Mirae Children's Hospital in Buk-gu, which has the second largest child and adolescent population, were designated as the '3rd Dalbit Children's Hospitals' the previous day.

The Dalbit Children's Hospital is a medical institution that offers professional care for children with mild illnesses at a lower cost than emergency rooms, in a comfortable and familiar environment close to home. Currently, Gwangju Christian Hospital in Nam-gu and Gwangju Central Hospital in Gwangsan-gu are operating as Dalbit Children's Hospitals. Last year, 40,727 pediatric patients received specialized care at Dalbit Children's Hospitals.

The 3rd Dalbit Children's Hospitals will begin operations on April 1 and will provide specialized pediatric care during weekday evenings and holidays for two years until March 31, 2027. Operating hours are from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekday evenings, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Aimam Children's Hospital will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, while Bukgu Mirae Children's Hospital will operate on Thursdays and Fridays. Both hospitals will be open until 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.

The city has selected 'Danaonnuri Pharmacy' and 'Aisarang Pharmacy,' located near the hospitals, as partner pharmacies to make it convenient for citizens using Dalbit Children's Hospitals to get prescriptions filled.

Jung Younghwa, Director of the Welfare and Health Bureau, said, "With the designation of the third Dalbit Children's Hospital, more children with mild illnesses can now receive outpatient specialized care during late evenings and holidays," adding, "Gwangju City will do its best to establish a medical system that ensures the safety of children and parents."
