Gyeonggi-do Ranks 2nd in Ministry of the Interior and Safety Innovation Evaluation... Selected as an Excellent Institution for 2 Consecutive Years

Gyeonggi Province was selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the 2024 Local Government Innovation Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.


On the 26th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it received an "Excellent" rating in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 2024 Local Government Innovation Evaluation, ranking second for two consecutive years among the 17 metropolitan local governments nationwide.


The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducts an annual innovation evaluation of 243 local governments nationwide to secure the execution capability of institutional innovation and induce autonomous innovation capacity enhancement, thereby creating innovation outcomes that residents can feel.


This evaluation was conducted by local government innovation evaluation teams and citizen evaluation teams based on 11 detailed indicators, categorized by evaluation groups (metropolitan, city, county, district). The results were determined in three grades: Excellent, Average, and Inadequate.

Gyeonggi Province received excellent grades in areas such as innovation in work methods and organizational culture improvement, service improvement using digital technology, public perception, and participation and internalization of innovation activities.


In particular, it received high evaluations for initiatives such as ▲‘Gyeonggi RE100 Promotion,’ where the public sector leads and residents and businesses collaborate to achieve the 30% target share of renewable energy power generation by 2030 ▲Gyeonggi Province’s unique all-around care policy, the ‘360° Care Service’ ▲the establishment of the ‘Gyeonggi Province Work Automation (RPA) System,’ which analyzes congestion rates by metropolitan bus routes and automates administrative tasks ▲and the ‘Gyeonggi Province Incident Management System,’ which uses ChatGPT (GPT) to automatically classify traffic accident information and promptly notify bus drivers.


Heo Seung-beom, Director of Planning and Coordination Office of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "We have achieved the excellent institution status as the second-ranked metropolitan local government for two consecutive years," adding, "This year as well, we will actively discover innovative projects and do our best to produce results that residents can feel."
