Yeongam County Named Excellent Local Government in Innovation Assessment for Two Consecutive Years

Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seunghee) has been selected as an excellent institution in the '2024 Local Government Innovation Evaluation' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, earning recognition as an innovative local government for the second consecutive year.

According to the county on the 26th, this evaluation involved 243 metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide and was conducted based on 11 detailed indicators, including ▲participation and internalization of innovation activities ▲solving livelihood issues through field-oriented communication ▲improvement of resident services and addressing administrative blind spots ▲innovation in work methods and improvement of organizational culture.

The county was highly praised for its efforts to innovate administrative services centered on residents and provide transparent public services. In particular, initiatives such as ▲free agricultural machinery rental and commercial disaster insurance subscription ▲Yeongam-style public housing support ▲expansion of public-private cooperation for Yeongam agricultural product promotion ▲Yeongam-type DRI ▲establishment of a pediatric department ▲opening of the youth center 'Dalbit Cheongchun Maru' ▲expansion of Yeongam-style senior jobs were cited as representative examples.

Last year as well, Yeongam County was selected as an excellent institution in this evaluation for projects such as the 'Jeonnam Southwest Shipbuilding Leap Center Operation' and the 'Higher Vocational Education Base District (HIVE) Project.'

Governor Woo Seunghee stated, "Being selected as an excellent institution for innovation for two consecutive years is a proud achievement created together by the residents and public officials," adding, "We will continue to prioritize improving the quality of life for residents and consistently discover and implement policies that all county residents can benefit from."
