Book Lending Services Begin March 4

Yuseong District in Daejeon held an opening ceremony for Yongsan Library on the 25th, attended by District Mayor Jung Yongrae, Council Chair Kim Dongsu, and about 200 local residents.
Yongsan Library is a two-story building with a total floor area of 1,914 square meters, designed to provide residents with a comfortable environment for reading and relaxation.
The first floor features an integrated desk, a children's section, a general materials room, and a preservation archive. The children's section includes a nursing room for the convenience of guardians with infants and toddlers.
The second floor serves as a multi-purpose community space, housing a Digital Transformation (DX) Support Center, Yongsan Maru (community space), program rooms, and offices, offering digital education and hands-on experiences.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. It is closed every Monday, on national holidays, and on government-designated holidays.
Book lending services will be available starting March 4. To celebrate the opening, a special 'Book Curation' event will be held in collaboration with local bookstores until the 30th of next month.
Jung Yongrae, Mayor of Yuseong District, said, “Yongsan Library is the 10th public library in Yuseong where books, relaxation, culture, and science come together, creating a space for all generations to enjoy. We will establish the Yuseong brand as a city of readers and ensure the library becomes a key cultural complex.”
