The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) announced on the 26th that it will promote the 'Buy America' campaign to encourage Korean companies to purchase American-made products. Utilizing AMCHAM's extensive business network, the campaign aims to expand procurement of key items such as American energy, automobiles, and agricultural products, and to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Korea and the United States.

This campaign is part of a pledge announced by James Kim, AMCHAM Chairman and CEO, at the 'Korea-US Business Night Gala Dinner' hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Chairman Chey Tae-won, held in Washington D.C. on the 19th (local time). At the event, Chairman Kim emphasized that AMCHAM will continuously strive to establish a balanced trade relationship and promote mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Korea and the United States.
The campaign is particularly meaningful as it is launched at a crucial time when trade and investment discussions between Korea and the United States are actively progressing. AMCHAM is continuously seeking strategic measures to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries in collaboration with Korean companies and U.S. policy authorities. AMCHAM plans to disclose specific plans to expand procurement of American products and services, including future cooperation with major companies and industry stakeholders.
Chairman Kim explained the background, saying, "The 'Buy America' campaign was launched to resolve trade imbalances and strengthen economic cooperation between Korea and the United States." He added, "AMCHAM will work closely with major companies in Korea and the United States to expand imports of American products and create opportunities that generate tangible benefits for both countries."
