Recognition for Excellence in Attracting and Managing International Students
Mokpo National University (President Song Hacheol) announced on the 26th that it has been certified in the ‘2024 International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS)’ evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education. With this, Mokpo National University has been officially recognized for its outstanding capabilities in attracting and managing international students.
The International Education Quality Assurance System is a comprehensive evaluation system that assesses the level of internationalization at universities, examining six key indicators including the rate of illegal stay, dropout rate, tuition burden for international students, and official language proficiency. In this evaluation, Mokpo National University achieved certification by demonstrating excellent results in its international student management system and low rate of illegal stay.
In particular, following its selection as a Glocal University in 2024, the university has further strengthened its international competitiveness with this certification. Based on this achievement, it plans to accelerate efforts to attract international students and to promote international exchange and cooperation.
Additionally, the university operates a variety of educational and living support programs to enhance international students’ academic achievement and support their stable settlement. Through these efforts, international students are able to focus on their studies in a stable environment, and such initiatives received positive evaluations in this certification assessment.
President Song Hacheol stated, “With this certification, our university will strive to provide even better educational and living environments for international students and to enhance its international standing,” adding, “We will do our utmost to strengthen our global educational competitiveness and establish ourselves as a trustworthy educational institution for international students.”
