The halal food market is valued at $2.5 trillion and is growing at a rate of 20% annually. The Paris Baguette Johor Production Center will serve as a hub supplying products to the global halal food market, focusing on Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Paris Baguette currently operates in six Southeast Asian countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines, and has master franchise agreements in three countries?Thailand, Brunei, and Laos?with store openings forthcoming. Expansion into Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is also underway.
The factory was built with a total floor area of 12,900 square meters. Through seven production lines, it can produce up to 300,000 bakery products per day (up to 100 million annually). Approximately 80 billion KRW was invested, double the original plan, to equip the facility with automation and safety systems.
With this factory, Paris Baguette will be able to supply high-quality products to the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets, enhancing brand competitiveness. In the future, halal products will also be supplied to North America, Europe, and Africa, securing a broader customer base in the global market.
Plans are also underway to produce export halal-certified products of affiliate SPC Samlip at the Johor Production Center. SPC Samlip will establish an ASEAN corporation in March and use the Johor Production Center as a foothold to expand business in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. This corporation will serve as an advanced base for selling finished products manufactured in Korea to the ASEAN region. Additionally, dormant dough will be supplied to cafes, hotels, and large retailers, and the company plans to enter the retail market through B2C product planning tailored to each country's environment and trends.
President Hur Jin-soo said, "The completion of the Johor Production Center is significant as it establishes a solid foundation for continuous growth in the global market along with strengthening overseas supply chains," adding, "We will expand our global business through this factory, which is a strategic base for targeting the halal market."
On Hafiz bin Ghazi, Governor of Johor, Malaysia, said in his congratulatory remarks, "The SPC Johor factory is expected to play an important role not only in the economic development and job creation of the Malaysian region but also in the development of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone."

SPC Group plans to grow into a 'Great Food Company' with a total of 12,000 stores worldwide by 2030.
