Hwaseong Hyundai Kia Research Institute~Seoul Station '5101' Express Bus to Launch Next Month

Travel from Namyang-eup to Central Seoul Without Transfers

A new express bus route connecting the Hyundai Kia Research Institute in Namyang-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and Seoul Station will be launched starting next month.

On the 25th, Hwaseong City held an opening ceremony for the 5101 express bus route in front of the rear gate of the Hyundai Kia Research Institute in Jangdeok-ri, Namyang-eup. About 50 people attended the ceremony, including Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, Hwaseong City Council Chairman Bae Jeong-su, city and provincial council members, and executives and employees of the Hyundai Kia Research Institute.

The newly established route is the first express bus connecting Namyang-eup to Seoul Station without transfers. The bus departs from the research institute and travels via Hwaseong West Police Station, Namyang New Town, Sadang Station, Ichon Station, and Sinyongsan Station, arriving at the Seoul Station Bus Transfer Center. Currently, three routes operate from Namyang-eup to the Gangnam area, including routes 1002 and 1008 to Sadang Station and route G1003 to Yangjae Station, but there were no routes heading toward the city center.

The route will deploy ten 45-seat CNG buses, operating 40 times a day. The interval between buses is 30 to 40 minutes on weekdays. The one-way distance is approximately 60 km, and the city plans to adjust the intervals and frequency based on actual traffic conditions and passenger demand.

Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said, "With the opening of this new route, citizens will be able to travel to Seoul Station faster and more conveniently. We will continue to expand express bus routes and improve the public transportation environment through ongoing monitoring and service enhancements of the newly launched routes."
