Seunghwa Lee, Sancheong County Governor, Pays Tribute at 3.1 Independence Movement Patriots' Gravesite

Lee: "We Will Not Forget the Devotion to the Nation"

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, announced on the 26th that it visited and paid respects at the grave of patriot Min Yong-ho, an independence activist, located in Sancheong-eup.


This visit was part of a campaign to pay respects at the graves of independence activists, organized by the Gyeongnam Western Veterans Affairs Office, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day and Samiljeol (March 1st Movement Day), involving everyone together.

The visit was attended by County Governor Lee Seung-hwa, Kim Sang-hee, head of the Gyeongnam Western Veterans Affairs Office, Yoon Jin-hee, chief of the Sancheong Fire Station, and Lee Yong-jin, a member of the Veterans Honors Club.


They read aloud the major achievements of patriot Min Yong-ho, who was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation, Independence Medal, in 1977, and honored the noble sacrifice of the independence activist through flower offerings and a moment of silence.


Governor Lee said, “With deep gratitude for the noble spirit of sacrifice of the independence activists, we will not forget the dedication and sacrifice of the patriots,” adding, “We will strive even harder to ensure that their noble spirit is inherited and developed.”
