The police announced on the 26th that they will conduct intensive crackdowns on illegal activities by motorcycle gangs starting from the 1st of next month.

Every year on commemorative days such as Samiljeol, Memorial Day, and June 25th, motorcycle gangs appear mainly in certain areas at night, causing public inconvenience and threatening traffic safety.

The police will identify the expected locations and times of motorcycle gang appearances in advance and carry out focused patrols and on-site crackdowns. When reckless driving is discovered or reported, traffic police, local police, detectives, and mobile patrol units will utilize all available personnel and equipment to enforce laws and investigate violations.

If it is difficult to apprehend offenders on site, the police will first secure evidence and ensure that reckless driving is punished through subsequent investigations.

A National Police Agency official stated, “Each metropolitan police agency will establish crackdown plans tailored to local conditions and prepare accordingly,” adding, “We will respond strictly to reckless driving that causes noise and disorderly traffic violations by conducting on-site crackdowns and post-incident arrests.”
