Reduced Airport Usage Fees and Facility Congestion
From the 30th of next month, passengers using Eastar Jet at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, must go to Terminal 3.
On the 25th, Eastar Jet announced that it will move its passenger check-in counters and boarding gates from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 to reduce airport usage fees for passengers and alleviate airport congestion.
With this terminal change, the airport usage fee will be reduced to 3,070 yen for adults (currently 4,160 yen). Passengers using Terminal 3 can reduce taxes imposed during the ticket purchase stage by more than 26%. Eastar Jet will also save over 400 million won annually in facility usage fees paid to Narita International Airport. Additionally, Terminal 3 is less congested compared to Terminals 1 and 2, allowing passengers to reduce the time spent on check-in and immigration procedures.
To mark the terminal change, Eastar Jet plans to run a promotion offering an additional 5 kg of checked baggage allowance for passengers departing from Narita International Airport to Incheon International Airport. Anyone who follows Eastar Jet’s official Instagram account can receive this benefit. The event period is from the 30th of next month to April 30th.
An Eastar Jet official stated, "We decided to change terminals considering the convenience of our passengers," adding, "This terminal change will help passengers save both fees and time."
