Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it will carry out a comprehensive cleanup project targeting illegal outdoor advertisements, focusing on major roads and downtown areas in each town and township.
The illegal outdoor advertisement cleanup project aims to eradicate and prevent the recurrence of illegal outdoor advertisements such as banners, standing signboards, and air lights that are indiscriminately installed and obstruct traffic and pedestrian movement.
The county plans to conduct a comprehensive cleanup by informing local political parties about the Jeollanam-do public-purpose advertisement political party banner guidelines (maximum of two per party) and requesting the removal of banners that exceed the standard for proper banner management.
Additionally, as newly posted apartment sale advertisements are springing up everywhere in the area, damaging the streetscape and threatening pedestrian safety, administrative actions such as corrective orders, fines, and enforcement charges will be imposed based on the results of the cleanup.
County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "We will create a pleasant and safe street environment through the comprehensive cleanup of illegal outdoor advertisements," and asked, "We request the active cooperation of residents to establish a desirable advertising culture and improve the cityscape."
