The corporation explained that employee A, who worked at a regional branch, was dismissed in December last year for committing sexual crimes, including forcibly molesting a female employee. Earlier, in November last year, employee B was also dismissed after being caught secretly filming under a female employee's skirt with a mobile phone.
Immediately after the reports, the corporation separated the two individuals and transferred employee B to a different workplace.
The Audit Committee, after verifying the facts, requested disciplinary action against employee B, and the Personnel Committee resolved to dismiss the employee. Dismissal is the highest level of punishment under the Korea Water Resources Corporation's disciplinary regulations.
The Korea Water Resources Corporation told Yonhap News, "After the crime was reported, the perpetrator was immediately transferred, and measures were taken to prevent the two from encountering each other," adding, "We will strengthen employee training to prevent such incidents from recurring."
