Amid ongoing peace negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war led by the United States and Russia, the leaders of China and Russia held a phone call.
China's state-run media China Central Television (CCTV) reported that "on the afternoon of the 24th, President Xi Jinping spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin."
CCTV used the term 'Yingyue' (應約), indicating that the call was made at President Putin's request.
The content of the discussion between the two leaders was not disclosed.
On the 12th, U.S. President Donald Trump and President Putin agreed during a phone call to initiate peace negotiations for Ukraine.
