Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will hang a large Taegeukgi flag on the outer wall of the Goseong-gun government building by March 1 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day and to participate in the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement national flag campaign.

The flag made to commemorate this is a large Taegeukgi measuring 12 meters in width and 9.64 meters in height, inscribed with the phrase marking the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement in the Gwanggaeto Hotaewang font.
Additionally, to mark the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement, the county will display about 360 street flags along major streets in the area (from Cheolseong Middle School to Goseong-eup Office, from Goseong-eup Office to Leader Ville Apartments, from Seoweo Five-way Intersection to the Fisheries Cooperative, and from Baedun Intercity Bus Terminal to Hoihwa Elementary School). Various Taegeukgi flag campaigns will also be conducted, including posting promotional messages on electronic billboards and the Goseong-gun Band.
County Governor Sang-geun Lee stated, “Commemorating the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement, I hope all residents of Goseong-gun unite to reflect on the proud history of the Republic of Korea, carry on the spirit of our ancestors, and create a hopeful future together.”
Meanwhile, on March 1, Governor Lee will attend the 106th anniversary March 1st Movement commemorative ceremony hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do Province along with independence patriots to inherit the noble spirit of patriotism of the fallen heroes and patriots and to have a meaningful time reflecting on the significance of the March 1st Movement.
